Sarah completed her general surgery training in 2014, followed by colorectal fellowship training through CSSANZ in Adelaide and Melbourne. She gained additional expertise in pelvic floor conditions during a post-fellowship position at St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin.

Her clinical interests span endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and pelvic floor/anorectal conditions. She joined Christchurch Public Hospital as a consultant in 2017 and Christchurch Colorectal Group in 2018. She holds a leadership role as incoming co-chair of General Surgical training for Aotearoa New Zealand and prioritizes patient empowerment in their healthcare journey.
